5 Engraving Rules for Perfect Readability
1. Less is more. On a small tag (25 mm), you can fit 3–4 lines max. Better to use less text that's easy to read.
2. Large font for the name. The dog's name should always be in the largest font – it's the first thing that catches the eye.
3. Choose a clear font. Decorative scripts look pretty but are hard to read. A clear, sans-serif font is always the better choice on a dog tag.
4. Cell phone over landline. You're out and about when your dog escapes – a cell phone number reaches you right away.
5. Use both sides. Front: name + main number. Back: additional info. This way you make the most of the space.
